The submitted article must be original and not have been published previously nor should it be under consideration for publication elsewhere. The submitting author is responsible to ensure that the submitted article is approved by all listed coauthors and the institution where the work has been carried out, and/or the funding organization (if any).
The content of Nanotechnology in Agriculture, Food & Environment is published only in English. However, the not native English authors are encouraged to have the manuscript edited for English by a native English speaking colleague or a professional English editing firm prior to submission. For this end, Nanotechnology in Agriculture, Food & Environment has partnered with Etcetera Proofreading (Canada) as the official English-language editing provider and authors will receive a 15 per cent discount on all editing services using the code (NAFE).
Scope of Nanotechnology in Agriculture, Food & Environment
The submitted article should fit within the scope of Nanotechnology in Agriculture, Food & Environment which includes, but is not limited to:environmental nanotechnology, agricultural nanothecnology, nanoecology, nanobiotechnology, nanotechnology in life science, nanotoxicology, nano sensors and nano bio-sensors, novel analytical methods, hazardous waste management, nanofertilizers, nanopesticides, wastewater treatment, water decontamination, environmental monitoring, removal of heavy metals, remediation of contaminated sites, food processing and packing, plant protection, crop production, animal and public health, regulations, precision farming, and green nanotechnology.
Nanotechnology in Agriculture, Food & Environment considers original research articles, short communications, case studies, mini reviews and reviews for publishing.
The corresponding author is invited to submit the manuscript through the journal’s online editorial system as the only submission option; therefore, the submission by email or any other means will not be considered. Authors may submit the manuscript in the format and structure of their choosing or following the formatting requirements described in the formatting section in this guideline. However, if the article is accepted, the authors will be requested to follow the journal’s formatting for the final version prior to the production of proofs.
Nanotechnology in Agriculture, Food & Environment applies a rigorous and fast one-blind peer-reviewing process. The estimated processing time is 3-4 weeks from submission to the first decision, and about 5-7 days from acceptance to publication (online first).
Formatting of manuscript
The authors may submit the manuscript in any format and structure of their choosing. However, if the article is accepted, the authors will be requested to follow the journal’s formatting for the last version prior to the production of proofs.
The manuscript may be submitted in one file containing all figures and tables or in separate files. However, the text should be in single-column format, double spaced, using Times New Roman font size 12.
The first page should include the following:
Full authors’ names
Full institutional mailing addresses
Email address of each author.
Email address and phone number of the corresponding author.
The abstract should not exceed 300 words and no citations will be allowed in the abstract.
This section should provide a scientific background related to the work and its objectives. The literature survey should be up to date and covering the most recent knowledge in the field of study.
Material and methods
Provide enough details on all materials and methodology to allow other researchers to replicate the study.
Results and discussion
Results and discussion may be presented separately in 2 subsections or combined. Results should be clear and accurate. The discussion should present the significance of the study and compare the results to the published studies.
This section should explain clearly the importance of the work and its main conclusions.
Authors are free to list the individual or institutions who provided assistance during the study. If the study was funded, details about the name of the funding agency and grant number should be provided in this section.
Conflict of interest
Author(s) should declare any conflict of interest relative to the submitted work. If there is no conflict, it should be stated clearly.
Authors should declare that all listed co-authors have participated substantively in the study and state the contribution of every co-author.
All references cited in the text should be shown in the references list. Only published and in-press references can be included in the references list. However, the unpublished results and personal communications may be mentioned in the text. Please be sure to provide the DOI of each reference in order to link the reference to its source.
References must be numbered in order of appearance in the text and listed individually at the end of the manuscript. Citations and References in Supplementary files are permitted provided that they also appear in the main text and in the reference list.
In the text, reference numbers should be placed in square brackets [ ], and placed before the punctuation; for example , [1–3] or [1,3].
The reference list should include the full title, as recommended by the ACS style guide. We recommend preparing the references with a bibliography software package, such as EndNote, ReferenceManager or Zotero to avoid typing mistakes and duplicated references.

Nanotechnology in Agriculture, Food & Environment allows the submission of supplementary material such as images, tables and applications along with the manuscript through the submission system.
After the acceptance of the manuscript, it will be forwarded to the production department. The corresponding author will receive the proofs by email. The corrected version should be returned to the journal within the following 5 days. The article will be assigned with a DOI and published online ahead of print.
Article Processing Charges
Nanotechnology in Agriculture, Food & Environment is an open access journal that provides immediate free access to the full text of published articles without a subscription. There are no submission charges, and no charges for rejected manuscripts. The article processing charges covers the publication costs and applies only for the accepted manuscripts. Upon acceptance, the corresponding author will be requested to pay the following fees:
FREE for manuscripts submitted during 2019.
$250 USD for manuscripts submitted starting 01 January 2020.
